Are you suffering from spring allergies? As we move from winter to spring (finally!), the weather is warming up, flowers and trees are blooming, and many of us are affected by seasonal allergies.
The major culprit of spring-time allergies is pollen in the air. Although it isn’t completely avoidable, there are ways to lessen the effects of pollen on your health this spring. First, try to stay inside when the pollen count is at its highest. This is usually early in the morning, and on dry, windy days. Looking for something to do to pass the time? How about starting your spring cleaning!
Second, be sure to remove whatever may be bringing pollen into your home. Pollen can cling to your skin and clothes, laundry (if it’s hanging outside to dry), and your pet’s fur. This might not be the best time of year for Fido to sleep in your bed!
There are also a number of things you can do inside your home to block allergens. There are high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters for your home and vacuum cleaner to help keep the air in your home clean.
If your symptoms are not quelled by the usually effective over-the-counter remedies, see your doctor to be prescribed a stronger medication. Be sure to enter your prescription information into the Orggit Medical section so that next spring you’ll be prepared!
