Nick is a Managing Director of Sandbox Industries. Nick is actively starting companies and is the co-founder of three start-ups. He was formerly President and CEO of NutraSweet Company, having led the buyout of NutraSweet from Monsanto Company in 2000. Mr. Rosa had previously been Senior Vice President of Monsanto and President of its Food and Nutrition Sector, a portfolio of businesses and five operating divisions, $2 billion in revenues and 3,000 employees worldwide.
Bob Shapiro Co-Founder of Morgan Street
Bob is a Managing Director of Sandbox Industries. Bob has served as a board member, advisor, or angel investor to over twenty start-up or development stage companies. He was formerly Chairman of Pharmacia Corporation, and, before that, Chairman and CEO of Monsanto Company. He was formerly a Director of the New York Stock Exchange and has served as a director of Citigroup, Rockwell International, and Silicon Graphics.
Steve Engelberg Managing Director of Sandbox Industries
Steve was formerly Senior Vice President, Government Affairs, of the Monsanto Company. Additionally, he was Managing Partner of the Washington D.C. office of Keck, Mahin & Cate and has served the U.S. government in several capacities, including the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, the Department of Transportation, and as Legislative Counsel to Senator Walter F. Mondale. Mr. Engelberg holds a BA from University of Michigan, a JD from Harvard Law School, and a Masters of Law from Georgetown University Law Center.
Drew Turitz Vice President of Sandbox Industries
Drew Turitz is a Vice President of Sandbox Industries, where he focuses on fund management for Sandbox Ventures and a corporate venture fund for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Prior to joining Sandbox, Drew was a Vice President at Bank of America in New York. He worked in the Healthcare Mergers and Acquisitions group, and executed numerous healthcare services, life sciences, and medical device transactions. Drew was also a Strategy Consultant for USWeb / CKS and Manager of Strategy and Business Development for Fluid, a web development firm, both in San Francisco. Drew has a BA from Stanford University and a MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
